A Settlement of the recalled Stryker Rejuvenate and AGB hip implants was announced Monday afternoon. The Stryker Hip Implants were recalled in 2012. There is no cap on the settlement amount but it is expected that Stryker will pay over one billion dollars. The settlement agreement provides for a base payment of $300,000 for each Stryker hip that failed and had to be surgically replaced. There are provisions for additional payments for medical complications that occur during and following a hip revision surgery. The settlement covers all Stryker patients who underwent a revision surgery prior to November 3, 2014. It is likely that there will be a second round settlement for those that need a revision surgery but have it after that date. Our firm has filed Stryker cases in both state and federal courts. We are reviewing and accepting Stryker and other hip implant cases.
